Your Private WineMaker’s Tour is conducted at your bequest, and provides direct, personal access to the region’s finest wine’s and prominent winemakers, in intimate, one-on-one encounters.
 Once inside your private, luxury vehicle,
our expert guide will take you to the secluded, small production and extremely high-quality Harrison Clarke Vineyard and Winery for a special tour and sampling. This unique, specialized facility is not open to the public, yet offers one of the most insightful and educational tours in the region, including barrel samplings of its prized wine ‘futures.’
Winemaker Hillary Clarke Harrison and husband Roger Harrison deliver a hands-on tasting experience unlike any we’ve found, and offer guests a glimpse into their old-world methods of handcrafting the highest quality Syrah and Grenache wines. Along for the ride are an assortment of scrumptious hors d’ourves including tantalizing meats, cheeses and fruits that pair perfectly with the tasting.
 Your second destination takes you to
the secret (sort of) hide-away of fabled Margerum Wines, tucked away in the foothills of Foxen Canyon. Rarely open to the public, the Margerum staff manages the wines and vineyards of several top local labels, under the artistic tutelage of master chef and winemaker Doug Margerum.
Guests sample from both bottle and barrel, and come away with a pleasured palette and a greater understanding of Syrah, Syrah blends like the popular M5 and the 5-Syrah masterpiece Uber), Grenache, Riesling, Savignon Blanc, and a host of Rose’s, blends and Cabs. No Margerum tasting would be complete without delectable foods – rich cheeses, seasoned meats and assorted goodies that bring out the hints and hues of the winery’s great assortment of Rhone-style varietals.
 Our third tour location is considered by some the most alluring venue in the Valley. The awe-inspiring Demetria Estate Vineyard and Winery is the perfect combination of glorious vistas, private confines and incredible hand-crafted wines.
To make things even more fun, the tastings are often guided by members of the owner’s family and occasionally joined by the winemakers, themselves.
Though quaint and well off the beaten path (the driveway winds 1.5 miles through the
vineyard), Demetria is the ultimate small-production winery aiming for superior quality through bio-dynamic methods, and luscious diversity in offering Chardonney, Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc, Syrah, Syrah Cuvee, and blends. Its captivating Tuscan-themed patio and production facilities are the ideal backdrop for our next adventure: A private, catered three-course meal from Trattoria Grappola, prepared by master chef Leonardo Curti.
The food, the wine, the surroundings are simply the frosting on the cake, as guests get the rare and exclusive opportunity to pick the brains, sample the artistic crafts and envoke the personal musings of some of the region’s foremost winemakers.
This private and highly exclusive outing is, by far, the best and most enchanting way to go deep inside Santa Barbara Wine Country and reap its greatest treasures.
This all-inclusive and exclusive tour is available for Lunch (10 am) or Dinner (3 pm) every day of the week (except major Holidays). Reservations are necessary. The Private WineMaker’s Tour is $200 per person. It includes pick up and return to your Santa Ynez Valley location. Guests departing from Santa Barbara city hotels and locations are welcome for an additional $15 per person transportation fee. Prices include tax and gratuity, though Tips to deserving Tour Guides are always appreciated. Additionally, guests can reserve additional hours to continue their tasting adventure. Price starts at $65 per hour and depends on the vehicle selected for the tour (Sedan, Executive Van, SUV, Limousine or Executive Bus).
